Tips For Cleaning Windows in the Winter

Chances are this last snowfall left your house and property a mess. If your windows need a little bit of love, you don't have to wait until spring to get them clean. Below we'll discuss four cold weather window washing tips.

1. Use Alcohol

Mix 3 tablespoons of alcohol in a vinegar and water solution to prevent freezing. Just make sure you use cold water, otherwise the alcohol may evaporate too quickly.

2. Mix With Salt

Combine 1/8 cup of salt with water in a spray bottle and mix until it's dissolved. It will not only get your windows clean, but according to Life Hacker, it will also keep them frost-free!

3. Try Antifreeze Windshield Washing Fluid

Windshields need to be clean year-round, so windshield washing fluid is usually designed to withstand below-freezing temperatures. Try pouring some into a spray bottle and spraying down your home's windows. Use a squeegee to wipe them clean.
